Bowser’s story

My name is Bowser, and I’d like to clear something up right away: I was never adopted. I adopted them. My story started when I wandered into a garage and decided it looked like a pretty decent place to stay. I was technically a “stray,” but I prefer independent dog seeking better accommodations. I lived with my first humans for about a year. Nice people. Good garage. No complaints. Then I met her. My girl. One day, her mom dropped her off to be babysat, and somewhere along the way, the humans made a very important decision: I was going home with her. Did her mom know about this decision? No. Did anyone ask permission? Also no. By the time she arrived to pick up her daughter, the deal was done. My toys were packed. My belongings were ready. I was basically standing at the door with my suitcase saying, “What took you so long?” She came to pick up one kid. She left with one kid and Bowser. Best surprise ever, if you ask me. Turns out, though, I had a pretty important job waiting for me. My girl had been through some scary things. After multiple home robberies, sleeping at night became hard for her. Humans call it insomnia. I call it a job for Bowser. So I became her nighttime security guard. I don’t carry a badge. I don’t need a uniform. My qualifications include excellent hearing, four paws, a very serious face, and the ability to take up significantly more room in a bed than my body size should allow. But most importantly, when I’m there, my girl knows she isn’t alone. And she sleeps. These days, I’m getting older. Apparently even legendary security guards age. I’ve developed dental disease, so now my humans are returning the favor and taking care of me. They pay close attention to how I’m feeling and have incorporated CBD/THC oils into my care, along with MOPA/RIFE frequency treatments that they believe have helped me along the way. I’ve gone from stray dog… to surprise adoption… to professional sleep assistant… to senior gentleman with a whole wellness routine. Not bad for a guy who started out in a garage. I may be getting older, but I still have an important job to do: stay beside my girl, keep watch, and remind my humans that sometimes the best things in life are the ones you never planned for. So if you’re wondering whether I deserve a spot on this calendar, just remember: I successfully adopted an entire family without filling out a single application. Beat that. — Bowser 🐾
